Volkswagen Passat GTE Hybrid Specs (fuel consumption is 141 mpg)

Volkswagen revealed this week the hybrid version of the Passat, the GTE, which is going to have its world debut at the end of this week at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. According to VW's official specifications, the Volkswagen Passat GTE Hybrid offers a fuel consumption of 141 mpg (under 2.0 l/100 km) and a 45 g/km CO2 emissions level. The VW Passat hybrid's powertrain includes a 1.4 TSI petrol engine that develops 115 kW / 156 PS from 5,000 rpm and an 85 kW / 15 PS electric motor. The Passat GTE's total output is rated, according to the official specs, at 160 kW / 218 PS and 400 Nm of torque. To maximum range of the Passat GTE is rated at 620 miles. In terms of performance, the hybrid Passat is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.0 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 136 mph.

On electricity only (the E-Mode) its top speed is 80 mph.

The equipment list of the Volkswagen Passat GTE Hybrid includes a few special features: a Range monitor, an Energy flow indicator, an e-Manager system and the so-called 360-degree range.
