Volkswagen revealed today the eight generation of the Passat, including its Variant (estate / station wagon) version. Volkswagen also announced today the 2015 Passat's engine line-up, its full specifications and a section of its equipment list. The 2015 Volkswagen Passat's price starts at 25,875 EUR (sedan). The Variant version is going to cost you at least 26,950 EUR. Both versions of the 2015 Passat, the sedan and the estate, will go on sale on Thursday, 10 July, 2014. Volkswagen made quite a few interior and exterior design changes to the new Passat (2015). All the new styling elements are quite visible in the attached photos and videos. The new Volkswagen Passat (2015) comes with a major weight loss of 85 kg. This translates into a 20 percent improved fuel economy.
The 2015 VW Passat's equipment list includes an Active Info display (a fully digital instrument cluster), a head-up display, an app-based Rear Seat Entertainment for tablet computers, Front Assist plus City Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring. The new VW Passat (2015) offers three premieres in terms of safety systems. These include Emergency Assist (vehicle stops in emergency), Trailer Assist (assisted maneuvering with a trailer) and Traffic Jam Assist.
Volkswagen is going to sell the new Passat (2015) with a choice between 10 direct injection turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, with outputs ranging from 88 kW / 120 PS to 206 kW / 280 PS. All of the 2015 Passat's engines come with a stop-start system and a regenerative braking mode. The 2015 Volkswagen Passat hybrid comes with a 115 kW TSI petrol engine and an 80 kW electric motor. Its total output is rated at 155 kW / 211 PS.
