Tanner Foust Reveals 900 hp Volkswagen Passat

When you the words Volkswagen and Passat, your mind does not necessarily think about drifting. The VW Passat comes with either front-wheel-drive or AWD, so it's not the best tool for going sideways. Nevertheless, Tanner Foust revealed recently his Formula Drift car for the next season, which is based on the latest version of the Volkswagen Passat. As you can imagine, Tanner's Passat is heavily modified. According to the official specs it develops 900 hp! Tanner's Formula Drift VW Passat is powered by a 450cc V8 engine that puts out 700 hp. In addition, his Passat is also fitted with a Nitrous system that brings an extra 200 hp. The engine of Tanner's Passat is mated to a G-Force GSR, 4-speed dog box transmission and a Tilton Engineering three-disk clutch.

This drifting VW Passat is also equipped with AEM Infinity-10 fuel injection system, a Driveshaft Shop 4" aluminum driveshaft, KMC wheels, RS-R custom coilovers and Nitto tires. The Passat is also fitted with x2AEM 320L fuel pumps, and a GP Motorsports Mil Spec wiring harness. For the interior of his Passat drift car, Tanner chose Recaro seats, a 4130 Chrome-Moly rollcage, Plex SDM-500 dash display, a Sparco steering wheel, and Tilton Engineering 600 series pedals.
