Volkswagen revealed today the new generation 2012 Passat BlueMotion, and announced its price for the UK market. VW's new 2012 Passat BlueMotion comes as both a saloon and an estate and it's powered by a 1.6-litre common rail TDI engine developing 105 PS, which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Volkswagen's official fuel consumption figures say that the 2012 Passat BlueMotion saloon offers 68.9 mpg on the combined cycle, while the Estate is able to do 65.7 mpg. The CO2 emissions levels are 109 g/km for the 2012 Passat BlueMotion sedan and 113 g/km for the estate, which puts them in the VED bands B and C respectively.
To be able to offer such good efficiency figures, the 2012 Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion features
a range of aerodynamic enhancements, including low rolling resistance tires, a 15 mm lowered suspension at the front and 7.5 mm at the rear, a new front grille, and an underbody panel. The sedan also has a rear spoiler.
The 2012 Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion price list starts at 19,875 GBP for the saloon, while the estate will cost you at least 21,180 GBP. Both versions will hit British dealerships in July this year.
