The first sketches the a few specifications of the future generation of the 2015 Volkswagen Passat have leaked over the web today. Apparently, VW wants to introduce the 2015 Passat towards the end of this year, however, its starting price and the exact launch date are not known at the moment. The Volkswagen Passat Hybrid is going to be powered by a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine and an electric motor, which is said to develop around 100 hp. The total output of the VW Passat Hybrid is estimated at around 200 hp. The hybrid Passat will be able to run on electricity only for up to 50 km. VW will also offer the future Passat (2015) with a 2.0 TDI engine with twin-turbochargers that's going to deliver 240 hp and 500 Nm of torque.

This engine is going to be mated to an AWD system through the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Volkswagen expects this engine to offer a fuel consumption of around 5 liters per 100 km. The 2015 Volkswagen Passat is going to be sold with a range of other petrol and TDI diesel engine with power outputs ranging from 120 hp to 280 hp.
