Volkswagen revealed at the 2013 NAIAS in Detroit the new Passat Performance Concept, which previews a future sport version of the sedan. The Volkswagen Passat Performance Concept is powered by the 1.8 TSI engine with turbocharging and direct-injection that's good for 250 hp (184 kW). This four-cylinder engine is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive system. VW equips the Passat Performance with Bi-Xenon headlights with Advanced Front Lighting System (AFS) and LED taillights. The Passat Performance comes with 19-inch alloys, a dual exhaust system, a lowered sport suspension and electro-mechanical steering. In terms of styling, Volkswagen simply filled the interior and exterior of the Performance Passat with carbon fiber trim parts.

The side mirror casings, the dashboard and other parts of the sedan have various carbon inserts. The car is also fitted with a leather upholstery.

So far, VW did not disclose when the new Passat Performance is going to go into production, but it most certainly will. We'll have more details and specifications regarding the VW Passat Performance in the near future.
