Volkswagen presented at this year's edition of the Detroit auto show the new Cross Coupe GTE concept. The Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE Concept previews a future SUV destined for the North American market. The concept is powered by a hybrid powertrain. It includes a 3.6-liter V6 engine, two electric motors and a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. According to the official specifications, the VW Cross Coupe GTE has a total horsepower output of 355 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to an all-wheel-drive system, the Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE is able to accelerate from nought to 60 mph in 6 seconds. VW says that the Cross Coupe GTE is able to offer a fuel economy of up to 70 mph. It can run on electricity only for up to 20 miles.
