Volkswagen cross up

Volkswagen previews at the 2011 IAA show in Frankfurt the future all-terrain version of the new Up. The design study is called the Volkswagen cross up and continues VW's naming strategy, which also brought the CrossPolo and the CrossGolf. The production version of this new design study will probably be named the Volkswagen CrossUp. The concept also offers a preview of the future four-door version of the VW Up.

The Volkswagen cross up features a new C-pillar, wheel arch extensions, dark side skirt extensions, new bumpers, a silver cross-bar in the front, integrated fog lights, anew front grille and a new air intake. VW's cross up also comes with underbody protection, and a 15 mm higher ground clearance.

Volkswagen equips the cross up with 16 inch alloys, 185 tires, and roof rails. The cross up comes in a "Tornado red" exterior finish, which is continued at its interior.

The production version of the Volkswagen cross up is just around the corner, and we expect it to go on sale next year.
