Volvo CEO Fredrik Arp announced back in April that the Volvo R performance range will come to the end of the line. He also said that Volvo will continue to build performance oriented cars, but they will not carry the R letter anymore.
Similar to Audi's S-Line performance upgrade line, Volvo might also adopt such a strategy. The rumor is that Volvo is developing a line of performance upgrades for the Volvo S40 and Volvo V50, called R-Line.
The new kit will have visual upgrades for sure and maybe some performance upgrades also:
- different suspension
- alloy wheels
- interior trim
- racing seats
- probably a R-Line badge
