| The 2015 Audi RS3 takes on the Volkswagen Golf R VII in an extensive comparison test. Basically, this new review of the Audi RS3 (2015) and of the VW Golf R VII tries to establish which of the them is fastest around a race track. The 2014 Volkswagen Golf R is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that develops 296 hp at 5,500 rpm and 280 lb-ft of torque at 1,800 rpm. According to VW's official specifications, the Golf R is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.3 seconds. The price of the Golf R, as tested, is 30,820 GBP. The 2015 Audi RS3 used for the purpose of this review is priced at 39,950 GBP. The new Audi RS# comes with a larger, 2.5-liter turbo engine that produces 362 hp at 5,550 rpm and 343 lb-ft of torque at 1,650 rpm. According to Audi, the new 2015 RS3 needs just 4.3 seconds to get to 62 mph (100 km/h). Both hot hatches have an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). So, on paper, the RS comes out as the undisputed winner of this comparison test. However, real life track conditions might change the outcome of this race. | |||||
