Volkswagen recently released the first teaser image of the Golf VII R. The VW Golf VII R concept is going to be unveiled in about two weeks' time and it will probably have its public debut in March, as the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Our sources believe that the production version of the Golf 7 R is going to be unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show in September this year. If this is the case, it will probably go on sale before the end of this year. The Volkswagen Golf VII R will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that could output around 290 hp. The engine will be coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission or the DSG double-clutch gearbox. So far, Volkswagen did not disclose any official details regarding the Golf VII R, but these speculations could be very close to reality.
The Volkswagen Golf VII R's price will probably be just under the 40,000 EUR mark when it goes on sale. We'll have more details about the golf 7 R in the near future.
