Volkswagen announced the 2014 Golf R's price list for the UK market, where the hot hatch has just went on sale. The first deliveries of the 2014 Volkswagen Golf R will begin in Britain in March next year. The 2014 VW Golf R is powered by a new version of the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged EA888 TSI petrol engine, which has an output of 300 PS from 5,500 to 6,200 rpm and 380 Nm (280 lbs. ft) from 1,800 to 5,500 rpm. With this engine, the new 2014 Golf R is able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). When equipped with the DSG transmission, the new Golf R (2014) gets from zero to 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds. In terms of emissions, the 2014 Golf R is rated with a fuel economy of 39.8 mpg (40.9 mpg DSG), and a CO2 emissions level of 165 g/km (159 g/km DSG).
Volkswagen's 2014 Golf R comes equipped with fifth-generation Haldex 4MOTION four-wheel drive system, which enables the hatchback to transfer 100% of its power to the rear axle in some cases. The 2014 Golf R can be equipped with an optional Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) system. It has a 20 mm lowered suspension in comparison to a regular Golf, which offers a "Race mode" setting. The 2014 Golf R allows the driver to fully disengage the ESC. VW equips the 2014 Golf R with progressive steering, a new front bumper, a modified front grille, bi-xenon headlights, 18-inch alloys and bigger brakes (340 mm front, 310 mm rear).
The 2014 Volkswagen Golf R's price for the United Kingdom starts at £29,900 GBP for the manual gearbox model. The DSG-equipped version of the new Golf R (2014) is going to cost you at least £31,315 GBP.
