BCA Press Release:

BCA is offering motoring enthusiasts a great opportunity to bid for a classic Mercedes convertible and raise valuable funds for Cancer Research UK in a special sale at Brooklands Motor Museum, Surrey on Thursday 5th June.

The 1995 Mercedes Benz 500 SL has been generously donated to Cancer Research UK by a supporter and

is being sold by BCA with all the proceeds going to the charity. The car is finished in silver, with blue leather trim and blue canvas power-hood. It is equipped with the optional wind deflector as well as the usual SL refinements. This one-owner car has covered less than 10,000 miles and must be one of the lowest mileage examples anywhere in the UK. The car has been meticulously maintained by Mercedes agents with recent work being carried out by Mercedes Benz Brooklands. It is estimated to sell for around £15,000.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to sell

this car on behalf of Cancer Research UK, the world's leading independent organisation in this important field”, said Robin Lawton, Head of Classics from BCA. “Cancer Research UK’s work is almost entirely funded by the public, through local fund-raising and generous donations such as this. We aim to raise a significant sum for the Charity with this sale.”

Speaking on behalf of Cancer Research UK, Emma Cronin, Area Volunteer Manager, commented “Without people offering their time and support we simply couldn't raise the money we need to fund our

vital research. Thanks to Cancer Research UK, thousands of people are surviving cancer today who wouldn't have survived ten years ago.”

BCA’s annual Brooklands Tradition sale takes place at the Brooklands Motor Museum, Surrey on Thursday 5th June starting at 12 Noon. The historic setting will provide a fantastic backdrop for a wide range of vehicles, spanning almost a century of motoring. A wide range of Automobilia will also be offered at the Sale including artwork, mascots, badges, emblems, models, books, handbooks, magazines, spare parts, accessories, lighting & motoring related ephemera.
