Jeep announced at the end of last week the launch of the 2011 Grand Cherokee on the UK market. Jeep also detailed the 2011 Grand Cherokee price list for the British market, which unfortunately, doesn't get the SRT8 high performance version yet. The 2011 Grand Cherokee is available in Britain with single engine, which powered both versions of the model, the Limited and Overland. Jeep's powertrain for the 2011 Grand Cherokee is a 3-litre V6 turbodiesel featuring a single Garrett VGT 2056 turbocharger with variable turbine geometry, which develops 177 kW (237bhp) at 4,000 rpm and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque at 1,800-2,800 rpm.
With this engine, the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is rated at a 27.4 mpg fuel consumption on the urban
cycle and 39.2 mpg fuel economy on the extra-urban cycle. Jeeps' official specs list for the 2011 Grand Cherokee says it has a 218 g/km CO2 emissions level, a top speed of 126 mph and a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 8.2 seconds.
In the case of the new, 2011 Grand Cherokee, Jeep went for a 4x4 system called Quadra-Trac II, featuring a two-speed transfer box with low ratio gears and an electronically controlled clutch that allows variable torque distribution. The UK version of the 2011 Grand Cherokee also features
Jeep's Quadra-Lift air suspension system. The Grand Cherokee 2011 has a 34.3-degree approach angle, a 29.3-degree departure angle and a 23.1-degree breakover angle.
