BMW invited a few lucky customers to take a closer look at the 2012 BMW M5 concept, before its world premiere at Auto Shanghai. BMW M president Dr. Kay Segler took them for a tour of the company’s garage and they also had the rare opportunity to review the new 2012 BMW M5. Even though BMW is calling it a concept, the M5 you see in these images is pretty much how the production car will eventually look like.

The German car manufacturer did not disclose the exact specs of the BMW Concept M5, however, they did mention it will be powered by a new high-revving, twin-turbo V8 engine. The 2012 BMW M5 will be equipped with a 7-speed M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic and Auto Start Stop technology. this will help improve its fuel

consumption and CO2 emissions. In fact, BMW claims that the 2012 M5 will need 25% less fuel than its predecessor and will emit less CO2.
