2012 BMW M5 F10 Police Car

 »  »  »

There's no escape! The 2012 BMW M5 F10 police car is here. The German "Polizei" recently received a new M5 for their patrol fleet. So far, BMW released only this image of the car, without any additional details. What we're wondering is whether or not this M5 has been modified to offer just a bit more performance than the standard vehicle. Taking into account the unrestricted Autobahn, and all the drivers who visit Germany just for maxing out their vehicles, not to mention the locals, you have to agree that the German police really needs such a powerful and capable vehicle. Currently the 2012 M5 police car is on display at the BMW Museum in Munich, Germany, but we're sure it will soon start active duty.

The 2012 BMW M5 (F10) is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 engine, which puts out 560 hp. The four-door saloon is able to get from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.4 seconds and to reach a top speed of around 190 mph (305 km/h). So, if you're driving along in Germany, and you happen to notice a silver and green 5 Series in your rear view mirror, kiss your license goodbye and pull over. There's no point in trying to escape.
