BMW launched today in Japan a special edition of the M5 called Nighthawk. The BMW M5 Nighthawk is covered in a special Frozen Black matte paint, and it sits on a set of 20-inch alloys, which are also finished in matte black. Various other trim parts have also been darkened. These include the front grille, the side gills, the door handles and the tail pipes. BMW equips the M5 Nighthawk with adaptable LED headlights by standard. For the interior of the M5 Nighthawk, BMW chose a Merino leather upholstery in Sakiru orange, as well as the M Performance carbon interior trim package. Apart from the elegant dark look, the BMW M5 Nighthawk comes with a discreet power upgrade too. Its 4.4-liter V8 TwinPower turbocharged engine develops 575 hp at 6,000 rpm and 680 Nm of torque between 1,500 rpm and 6,000 rpm.

This is 15 hp more than the standard vehicle. According to BMW, the M5 Nighthawk is able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than standard.

The BMW M5 Nighthawk comes with new settings for the steering and suspension systems and it's equipped with carbon ceramic brakes.

The BMW M5 Nighthawk's price is set at 18,200,000 YEN. The Bavarian carmaker says that only 10 of them will ever be sold and the offer is available for just 30 days, in August.
