BMW launches M3 and M5 Performance Editions in the UK, with no extra performance. The M3 Performance Edition is powered by the standard 420hp V8 engine, which is mated to the 7-speed M DCT transmission and a variable M differential. It does come however with the Competition Package, which includes a 10-mm lowered suspension, Electronic Damper Control and a revised DSC+ system. The M5 Performance Edition comes with the V8 TwinPower Turbo engine, which is good for 560hp. The M5 is also equipped with an Active M differential and electronic damping control. Both the M3 and the M5 Performance Editions are now available with three new colors, including a matte wrap. The interior of the M5 is covered in Full Black Merino leather, while the M3 features a Black Novillo leather upholstery.
BMW's performance editions of the M3 and the M5 feature an Alcantara steering wheel, Piano Black interior trim parts, and various M logos.
The BMW M3 Performance Edition is priced at £74,080 OTR, which includes £9,790 worth of equipment, while the M5 will cost you £95,140 OTR (£22,075 of additional equipment).
