New 2012 Honda Civic info has surfaced today as the next generation model was spied for the first time. The 2012 Honda Civic prototype caught on camera is heavily camouflaged, so there's not much we can say about its design. The 2012 Honda Civic is disguised to look like a sedan, but it's obvious the car underneath has a four-door hatchback body style.
As far as the engines go, the rumors say the 2012 Honda Civic will have a new diesel engine, smaller than the current 2.2-liter and a completely new petrol unit. Another novelty brought by 2012 Honda Civic will be the company's dual-clutch gearbox which will offer faster shifting times and better fuel economy. A 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid will also be produced,
but so far, it's details are a mystery.
The extreme exterior design of the model range will probably be kept with the 2012 Honda Civic, but the prototype seems to be wider and lower than the current generation model. However, these new dimensions might be there for increased interior space, rather than to give the 2012 Honda Civic a sportier character.
