As expected, Honda revealed at the 2012 LA Auto Show the new Civic sedan (2013), which comes with revised exterior and interior styling, as well as new features. The 1.8-liter 16-valve 4-cylinder engine of the previous version, which is good for 140 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque, is carried on to the 2013 Honda Civic. The Natural Gas version of the new Civic (2013) has a 1.8-liter engine that puts out 110 hp and promises a 27/38/31 mpg (city/hwy/combined) fuel economy. The 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid comes with a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine that has the carmaker's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system, and a CVT transmission. The 2013 Civic hybrid is rated with a 44/44/44 mpg (city/hwy/combined) EPA fuel consumption. The top of the range 2013 Civic Si Sedan comes with the i-VTEC 2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve engine that develops 201 hp.

Honda recalibrated the 2013 Civic's suspension and steering, and improved its body and chassis. They also increased the safety of its occupants through the next generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering II (ACE II) body structure. The standard equipment list of the new Civic (2013) includes a rearview camera, Bluetooth/USB/iPod connectivity, a Pandora interface, and SMS text message functionality. The new Honda Civic (2013) can be optionally equipped with a Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system, and a Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system.
