Today, new 2012 Mercedes SL info has surfaced the web as the next generation model was spied again during testing. Unfortunately, none of the camouflaged has been taken off the 2012 Mercedes SL test prototype yet. Daimler will place under the hood of the next gen 2012 Mercedes SL350 a new 3.5-litre V6 engine developing 306 hp. The other versions of the 2012 Mercedes SL will have either a 4.7-litre V8 developing 435 hp or the new 5.5-liter AMG engine. The 2012 Mercedes SL AMG, powered by the newly unveiled unit, will output around 570 hp which will all go to the rear wheels. Talk about a mad ride...
The 2012 Mercedes SL will also feature the company's latest in engine technology, including start/stop, new generation fuel injection and multi-spark ignition.
In terms of exterior design, the 2012 Mercedes SL will have a more aggressive design than the current version and will feature a folding hard-top. The car will be equipped with LED daytime running lights and Daimler's AirCap technology for open-top motoring.
The 2012 Mercedes SL price will be announced at a later time, obviously, as the new generation model is excepted to have its debut at the Paris Motor Show in two years time.
