New 2012 Porsche Boxster info has surfaced the web lately, saying next generation version might go 3-cylinder. The new rumors say, that in attempt to reduce the model's CO2 emissions under the 190 g/km, the German carmaker may fit it with a 3-cylinder engine. However, the 2012 Porsche Boxster will also have a turbocharged which means it will output around 250 hp. The 2012 Porsche Boxster S will have a larger engine developing more than 300 hp and will be equipped with the new trick PDK transmission. The customers will still have the option of equipping their 2012 Porsche Boxster with the 6-speed manual gearbox.
As far as the exterior looks go, we're safe to day the 2012 Porsche Boxster will not be much different looking than the current version.
The German engineers are focusing more on the CO2 emissions and fuel efficiency of the 2012 Porsche Boxster more than on updating its design. Porsche has never been a big fan of drastically changing the appearance of its models
