The latest generation 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe was unveiled today in New York at the 2012 International Auto Show. The 2013 Santa Fe is Hyundai's third generation of the model, which brings more practicality and improved efficiency in a more appealing design package. The 2013 Hyundai SantaFe will be available with a choice between three engines: a 2.0-litre diesel (150ps @ 4000rpm / 382Nm @ 2000rpm), a 2.2-litre diesel (200ps @ 3800rpm / 431Nm @ 2000rpm) and a 2.4-litre petrol (193ps @ 6300rpm / 245Nm @ 4250rpm). Available with both a 2WD and a 4WD system, the 2013 SantaFe will be sold with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. The new Hyundai SantaFe (2013) also benefits from a decent cargo space of 534 liters (35.4 cu. ft.) with the seats in the upright position.

Apart from the regular 5-seat version, Hyundai's 2013 Santa Fe also comes as a long wheelbase model, which features a third row of seats. Some of the highlights of the new Hyundai Santa Fe (2013) include a panoramic glass roof, heated seats and steering wheel, and Intelligent Active All-Wheel Drive. The new Santa Fe (2013) is the first non-luxury CUV to be equipped with Torque Vectoring Cornering Control (TVCC) and a Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM) system. It also features a latest generation navigation and multimedia system, which comes with an 8-inch display.

For 2013, Hyundai improved the safety of the Santa Fe. The CUV now comes with a Blindspot Detection System, a Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, and Motor-Driven electric Power Steering. To increase the children’s safety inside the car, Hyundai equipped the 2013 Santa Fe with the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system.

The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe's price and availability will be announced at a later date. You can watch the new version of the model on video after the jump. Its full specifications and details are available here.
