2013 Mercedes SLS AMG GT and Roadster

Mercedes-Benz revealed today the updated version of the SLS AMG (2013), in both coupe (Gullwing) and Roadster body styles, which is now called the GT. The 2013 Mercedes SLS GT promises enhanced driving dynamics for an even better racetrack performance. The power of the Mercedes SLS GT continues to be fed by the 6.2-liter V8 engine, which is good for 435 kW (591 hp) at 6800 rpm and 650 Nm (479 lb/ft) of torque at 4750 rpm. Mercedes rates the 2013 SLS GT with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 197 mph (320 km/h). The 0-60 mph sprint time is approximately 3.6 seconds, while the 200 km/h mark comes in 11.2 seconds. Mercedes SLS GT's combined fuel consumption (NEDC / Europe) is 13.2 l/100 km. The USA version of the 2013 SLS GT is 14 mpg in the city, 20 mpg on the highway, and 15 mpg combined.

Both the Roadster and the Gullwing versions of the Mercedes SLS GT come with an even better optimized AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. They also come with a revised AMG RIDE CONTROL Performance suspension. For the interior of the SLS GT, Mercedes offers the high-quality AMG designo Exclusive STYLE leather.

In terms of design, the Mercedes SLS GT features darkened headlights and tail lights, together with red brake calipers. The wing-shaped cross fins, the front grille star, the fins on the bonnet and wings and the side mires comes with a high-gloss finish. Es expected the boot lid of the new SLS (2013) features the AMG GT badge.



The Mercedes SLS GT comes with other improvements too. These include faster accelerator pedal response, a faster manual gearbox mode, and a faster automatic double-declutching function when downshifting. The new suspension system of the Mercedes SLS AMG GT features twin aluminum wishbones on all four corners, and variable, electronically controlled damping.

At the interior, the Mercedes SLS GT features revised seats, red seat belts, center console and door panel lining, and a high-gloss black trim.

The Mercedes SLS GT's price for the European market starts at 204,680 Euros for the gullwing and at 213,010 Euros for the Roadster. The designo Exclusive STYLE leather option will cost you 5771.50 Euros. These prices include the 19% VAT. The new SLS AMG GT will go on sale this October. Mercedes is not disclose the SLS GT's price for the United States, but they did mention it will go on sale here in mid-November 2012.

UPDATE: Mercedes SLS GT's price for the USA market starts at $199,500 MSRP for the coupe, while the roadster version is going to coast you at least $206,000 MSRP. You'll also have to add the Gas Guzzler tax of $2,100 and the destination and delivery charges.
