The initial info on the future generation 2013 Nissan GT-R surfaced the web this week, coming from the manufacturer's home market, Japan. Apparently, the next-gen 2013 Nissan GT-R is still on track, even though it was delayed by the recent disaster that struck Japan. The 2013 GT-R was scheduled for testing on the Nurburgring, but unfortunately, the Tsunami delayed these plans. According to various sources, Nissan will resume testing of the 2013 GT-R this fall.
The 2013 GT-R will be the last of the series, so Nissan want to make it go out with a bang. The current generation 2012 Nissan GT-R facelift develops 390kW (530 PS) at 6,400 rpm and 612 Nm of torque from 3,200 to 6,000 rpm. The next generation model will have 30 bhp and 49 Nm of
torque more. This means that the 2013 Nissan GT-R will send no less than 560 bhp and 661 Nm of torque to all four of its wheels.
Apart from the extra power, the future GT-R might also come with an updated exterior look, and possibly, a new interior, but these are all speculations at the moment.
Apart from the regular GT-R, Nissan also plans to offer yet another, high performance, SpecV
version. The main focus point of the 2013 Nissan GT-R SpecV will be to loose weight, and our sources say it could result in a 30 to 40 kg loss.
