Alfa Romeo revealed today the full details and specifications of the 4C's production version. As previously announced, the 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C is powered by a turbocharged 1742 cc mid-mounted engine that develops 240 hp (177 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 350 Nm of torque between 2,200 rpm and 4,250 rpm. The engine of the Alfa Romeo 4C is linked to the sports car's rear wheels by a 6-speed TCT dual dry-clutch transmission and a Q2 electronic differential. Even though this doesn't seem like much, the Alfa 4C, thanks to a weight of just 895 kg, is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.5 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 160 mph (250+ km/h). According to Alfa Romeo, the 4C is able to pull as much as 1.1 Gs during cornering. The Alfa 4C is rated with a combined fuel economy of 56.5 UK mpg (5.0 liters per 100 km) and a 157g/km CO2 emissions level. The Alfa Romeo 4C can be driven in four different modes: All Weather, Natural, Dynamic, and Race.
The Alfa Romeo 4C is built on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. It offers 2 seats and a 110-liter boot. The 4C comes equipped with two sport bucket seats, Brembo brakes, and a TFT instrument cluster that displays the turbo pressure, oil temperature and the Gmeter gauges. Alfa Romeo is going to sell the 4C with a choice between 17- or 18-inch alloys, and various Mopar accessories. The 4C is going to be available with two optional packages:
- Racing Pack (racing set-up, racing exhaust system, AR RACING tires, 18/19" 5-hole wheels, sports steering wheel in leather with microfiber insert and red stitching);
- Luxury Pack (mixed leather and microfiber sports seats with red stitching, carbon fiber Bi-LED headlights).
The Alfa Romeo 4C's price for the UK market starts at £45,000 GBP on the road. The first 4Cs are going to be delivered in the UK starting from early 2014. Alfa Romeo says they're going to build just 3,500 4Cs per year. The full details and specifications of the Alfa Romeo 4C are available here.
