In this video Autocar puts the Audi Q7 V12 against the mighty BMW M5 in a straight forward drag race. The Audi Q7 V12 is powered by a V12 TDI diesel engine that develops 493 hp. Equipped with the company's quattro all-wheel-drive system, the Audi Q7 V12 needs, on paper, 12.6 seconds to reach 100 mph. On the other hand, the BMW M5 has also nearly 500 hp, but weighs 800 kg less and is equipped with a rear-wheel-drive system. The BMW M5 accelerates from 0 to 100 mph in 10.4 seconds.
