BMW announced their new eco-friendly i brand last month, together with its first two models the i3 and the i8. So far however, BMW did not release any images of the new i3, except a few sketches and clay models. This BMW i3 spy video offers the first chance to see one of the i models in action. Even though BMW's i3 prototype is covered in camouflage tape, the general proportions of the car can be clearly seen. Judging from the clip, the BMW i3 will probably be a two-door hatchback style small model, with a 2+2 seating configuration, developed especially for urban use.
BMW has already confirmed that the i3 will use an electric powertrain. We could add that it will probably be useful for a little more than just
your weekend shopping. This video, filmed during cold weather testing, shows the BMW i3 doing a little bit of drifting in the snow. That could be fun!
Previously known as the Megacity Vehicle, the BMW i3 will be the company's first all electric production model, which will be joined later by the i8.
