BMW announced this week the i3's price list for the UK market, where the Bavarian electric vehicle has just went on sale. The BMW i3 is powered by an electric motor that generates 170 hp and 250 Nm of torque. With this engine the I3 Bimmer is able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph in 7.2 seconds. According to BMW's official specifications, the i3 has a range of 80-100 miles on a fully charged battery. If you drive the i3 in the ECO PRO mode, the range increases by around 15 per cent. In the ECO PRO+ mode the range increases by the same amount again. The BMW i3 is available with an internal combustion range extender engine too. This is a 650cc two-cylinder four-stroke petrol engine that develops 34 hp. With the extender engine installed, the i3 has a maximum range of 180 miles.
Both versions of the BMW i3 have a top speed of 93 mph. The Range Extender version of the i3 is rated with a CO2 emissions level of 13 g/km.
The BMW i3's UK price list starts at £25,680 GBP OTR for the electric version and it goes as high as £28,830 GBP OTR for the Range Extender model.
