The first photos and details of the production version of the 2014 BMW i3 have leaked over the web. BMW is expected to officially launch the new 2014 i3 on July 29th. The 2014 BMW i3 is basically identical to the concept presented by the Bavarian carmaker back in July 2011. The only design differences we're able to see include the front bumper, the fog lights, and the rear bumper. The interior of the production BMW i3 (2014) is completely different, obviously. However, the 2014 i3 comes with a similar steering wheel, and two digital displays. One of them replaces the traditional gauges, while the other is used for controlling the multimedia system and other functions of the vehicle. The 2014 BMW i3 is going to be powered by an electric motor that apparently puts out 175 hp and 250 Nm of torque.

This version of the new i3 (2014) is juiced by a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery. With this powertrain, the 2014 i3 Bimmer is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.2 seconds. The i3 can reach a top speed of 93 mph (150 km/h) and it has a maximum range of 100 miles (160 km).

The top of the range 2014 BMW i3 is going to be equipped with a 2-cylinder 650cc range extender engine, which will increase the range of the vehicle to 180 miles (300 km/h).

The 2014 BMW i3's price has been set at €34,950 EUR in Europe and at £25,680 GBP in the UK. IF you live in the USA, you're going to have to pay at least $41,350 USD to buy a BMW i3.
