0 to 60 km/h (37 mph), which usually is the maximum speed limited in the city, in under four seconds.

BMW fitted the i3 concept with a "Life module" which meant to give a feeling of more interior space, while giving the cabin an airy, lounge-like character. The interior of the i3 is built using renewable raw materials, including the instrument panel and door paneling which are made from natural fibers. The i3 concept also features naturally tanned leather seats.

The BMW i3 offers four seats, opposing "coach" doors, a 200-litter boot, and a functional compartment in the front.
