Chevrolet Coupe Concepts At NAIAS 2012

Chevrolet unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show two very interesting coupe concepts, which are called the TRU 140S and the CODE 130R. Even though the Chevrolet Concept CODE 130R does seem to go after the BMW 1 Series Coupe, its brother, the TRU 140S actually looks amazingly appealing. The Chevrolet CODE 130R is a four-seat coupe, with a front-engine / rear-wheel-drive architecture, which again, seems to rival the BMW 1 Series Coupe. The Chevrolet TRU 140S is also a coupe, but it has a much more streamlines profile than the CODE 130R. The CODE 130R is powered by a turbocharged engine, which works together with the eAssist technology for improved efficiency. Chevy's CODE 130R concept features Start / Stop technology and a braking energy recovery system.

The Tru 140S is front-wheel-wheel-drive. The three-door hatch has been designed on the same platform as the Chevy Cruze and it's meant to be affordable exotic.

The Chevrolet CODE 130R and Tru 140S are powered by a 1.4L Ecotec turbocharged DOHC I-4 engine, which outputs 150 hp and 200 Nm of torque. Both of them will be available with either a 6-speed automatic or a manual transmission.

Chevrolet estimates that the production version of the two coupe concepts will be priced at around $20,000 USD.
