The first images and specs of the De Tomaso SLC have leaked over the web last weekend, ahead of the new model's debut in Geneva tomorrow. The De Tomaso SLC represents the second birth of a car manufacturer which was very popular 70s and 80s. This time around, they chose to try and make into the automotive industry with a rather powerful 4-door sedan. The De Tomaso SLC will be offered for sale with a choice between a V6 engine developing 300 hp and a more powerful, V8 unit with an output of 550 hp.
The De Tomaso SLC is made mostly from aluminum through a new technology, called Univis, that requires about 30 dies to build a vehicle. Apart from the SLC, De Tomaso plans to build two additional models with the help of the same
technology. The De Tomaso SLC will be joined on the company's line-up by a limo and a coupe.
The De Tomaso SLC price list and availability will be announced at a later date as the car will enter production this year.
