Gumpert revealed their new model called Explosion at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Unfortunately, they just released one image of the Gumpert Explosion. Gumpert's Explosion is a two-seater sports car, that's not as extreme as the Apollo. The Gumpert Explosion is equipped with all-wheel-drive and a 2.0-liter engine that develops 420 hp (313 kW) at 6,450 rpm and 520 Nm of torque at 4,550 rpm. Even though Gumpert does not say anything about this, we believe that the Explosion's engine is turbocharged. With the help of this powertrain, the Gumpert Explosion is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.0 seconds. The engine of the Explosion is coupled with 6-gear automatic transmission with paddle shifters or one with an H stick shift.
The Gumpert Explosion has a front-engine architecture, and a tubular frame chassis made of carbon fiber, glass-fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum composite.
The Gumpert Explosion's price starts at 105,000 EUR. However, the German carmaker does not mention when it will go on sale. We'll have more details about the Gumpert Explosion, and hopefully photos, as soon as they're available.
