Ducati announced today the name of their future Superbike, which will be called the 1199 Panigale. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer also released a teaser video, which previews the future model. The world debut of the Ducati 1199 Panigale Superbike will take place at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan, which will take place between the 10th and 13th of November, 2011. Ducati's Panigale, pronounced "Pan-ee-gah-lee", is the manufacturer's first Superbike, to be powered by a 1199cc engine, and have a real name, instead of just a number. Ducati chose this name for the new 1199 Superbike based on the Borgo Panigale region, located in Bologna, Italy. To understand why, we have to tell you that this particular region is also known as "Motor Valley".
The 1199 Panigale will have its racing debut in the 2012 FIM Superstock Championship and it will also debut in the 2013 World Superbike series.
Ducati did not release any technical details of the 1199 Panigale, but we're sure they will do so sometime next month. Until then, watch 1199 Panigale's teaser video below.
