MTT Y2K Turbine Superbike

Marine Turbine Technologies (MTT) announced recently that they're going to lunch a new Y2K turbine-powered superbike in the near future. MTT's first Y2K bike was lunched back in 2000 and it was powered by a helicopter engine that runs on kerosene. It had 320 hp. The new MTT Y2K superbike is powered by a Rolls-Royce C-20B gas turbine engine that develops no less than 420 hp. MTT says that the new 2014 Y2K turbine motorcycle is going to be able to reach a top speed of 420 km/h. This is faster than the Bugatti Veyron. The 2014 MTT Y2K's engine has been modified so that it can run on both diesel and A1 jet fuel. It has a long wheelbase so that it offers enough room for the engine and, at the same time, it offers better stability at high speed. The new MTT Y2K (2014) is equipped with a bespoke 2-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of design, the production version of the MTT Y2K is going to look like the prototype you see in this image. However, the company says that the new version of the turbine bike is still undergoing wind tunnel testing.

Currently, the 420 hp MTT Y2K has been approved for use on USA roads. Its manufacturer is still working on making it road legal in Europe. So far, MTT did not announce the price and availability of the new Y2K turbine superbike.
