Fiat revealed today the Cross version of the Panda, which is going to be introduced next month ad this year's Geneva auto show. The Fiat Panda Cross is an all-terrain version of the popular 4x4 model that comes with several distinctive features. The Fiat Panda Cross is equipped with a "Torque-on-Demand" transmission, an ELD (Electronic Locking Differential) and an advanced ESC (Electronic Stability Control). There are three driving modes: AUTO, LOCK – 4WD and HILL DESCENT. Fiat's Cross Panda is powered by a 0.9 TwinAir Turbo engine that develops 90hp at 5,500 rpm and 145Nm (107 lb ft) of torque between 1,900rpm and 3,000rpm, or 100Nm (74 lb ft) at 2,000 rpm in Eco mode. Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, this version of the Panda Cross offers a fuel economy of 57.6mpg and a 114g/km CO2 emissions level.

Fiat is going to sell the Panda Cross with a 1.3 MultiJet II turbo-diesel engine too. This version of the Panda Cross develops 80hp at 4,000rpm and 190Nm (140 lb ft) of torque at just 1,500 rpm. It promises a fuel consumption of 60.1mpg and a 125g/km CO2 emissions level.

The Fiat Panda Cross has a 16cm / 15cm ground clearance depending on the version. This means it offers a 24-degree approach angle, a 33-degree departure angle, a break-over angle of 20 degrees and a 31.5-degree (70%) climbable gradient.

The Fiat Panda Cross comes equipped with new light clusters, a new bumper, new fog lights, LED DRLs, wheel arch extensions, side moldings, roof bars, 15-inch alloys, and a new bumper with under-body protection.

The Fiat Panda Cross's price is going to be announced at a later date.
