The first image of the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder was revealed this week, together with some of its details. The spyder version of the Hennessey Venom GT is expected to go on sale sometime next summer, with a price tag of $1.1 million USD. The Venom GT Spyder will probably go on sale as a 2013 model and it will be powered by a 1,200 hp twin-turbo V8 engine. Yes, that's right! You can get a 1,200 hp open-top hypercar these days.
Hennessey built the Venom GT based on a Lotus Elise, and its Spyder version shows the same origins. This means that, apart from being extremely powerful, the Venom GT Spyder is also very light. Hennessey says it weighs just 1,200 kg. This means it has a power-to-weight ratio of 1 hp / kg.
