The Hennessey Venom GT has been officially revealed with the company releasing the full details images and video of the new hypercar. The Hennessey Venom GT base version is powered by 6.2 liter LS9 V8 engine from a Corvette ZR1 that has been updated to output 725 bhp. However, there will be two more powerful version of the car. The Hennessey Venom GT will have a 1000 bhp and 1200 bhp twin turbo V8 engine versions. The Hennessey Venom GT sends its power to the rear wheels via a Ricardo 6-speed gearbox.
The company says the Hennessey Venom GT weighs less than 2,400 lbs (1,071 kilos) thanks to its lightweight carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wheels. The Hennessey Venom GT is equipped with Brembo brakes with 6-piston calipers up
front and 4-piston calipers in rear and 15-inch carbon ceramic rotors.
The Hennessey Venom GT features a CFD (computational fluid dynamic) tested bodywork, a programmable traction control system, adjustable rear wing and an adjustable suspension system. The car sits on Michelin PS2 tires.
Although its based on a little Lotus Elise, the Hennessey Venom GT will definitely give the
Veyron a run for its money. It needs 2.2 seconds to reach 60 mph and has a top speed of 262 mph. The Hennessey Venom GT is priced around 600,000 USD.
The company will build the Hennessey Venom GT in Britain with a rate of 10 units per year. If you buy one, you'll also get a 1-day driver orientation and instruction program by a Hennessey factory test driver, at a track in the UK or USA prior to delivery.
