Hennessey revealed this week the full specifications and details of the new Venom F5. The Hennessey Venom F5's specs say it can accelerate from zero to 186 mph (300 km/h) in less than 13.63 seconds and from nought to 200 mph (320 km/h) in less than 14.51 seconds. According to Hennessey's specs, the Venom F5 is able to get to a top speed of 290 mph (466 km/h). The Hennessey Venom F5 is powered by a 7.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that develops more than 1,400 hp. Apart from having more power than the Death Star, the Venom F5 is also extremely light. Most of it is built using carbon fiber and aluminum. This means it weighs less than 1,300 kg (2,866 lb.). On the Fujita scale, the strongest tornado is rated as an F5. This is where the name of the new Venom comes from.
In comparison to the Venom GT, the F5 is more aerodynamic, with a drag coefficient of less than 0.40. The Hennessey Venom F5 creates downforce using its upper body shape, its underbody venturis, its rear diffuser beneath and its retractable rear wing.
The Hennessey Venom F5 comes equipped with a single clutch paddle-shift gearbox. Hennessey is going to sell the F5 Venom with a standard H-pattern manual transmission too. The Venom F5's equipment list includes a GPS-based stability/traction control system.
The Hennessey Venom F5's price is going to be higher than $1.2 million. Hennessey plans to build at least 30 units of the Venom F5. The first deliveries will commence in 2016.
