Project LiveWire: The First Electric Harley Davidson

 »  »  »

Harley Davidson revealed today their first electric motorcycle, called Project LiveWire. Frankly, this took us a bit by surprise. We weren't expecting a company such as Harley Davidson to go "green", but, the world is changing so we guess they have to adapt too. Currently, the Harley Davidson LiveWire is just a concept. However, the legendary bike manufacturer says they're going to showcase it across the United States starting from next week. A number of select consumers will have the opportunity to ride it and to offer their feedback on the first electric Harley. The main purpose of Harley's LiveWire project is to get insight into riders' expectations. For those of you that have never ridden a bike, Harley Davidson is offering the chance to ride it virtually through Jumpstart – a simulated riding experience.

Mark-Hans Richer, one of Harley's officials, says Project LiveWire is "more like the first electric guitar – not an electric car". So far Harley Davidson did not disclose any technical details regarding Project LiveWire.
