The Mastretta MXT, launched at this year's London Show, is the first car ever to be designed and built in Mexico. Daniel Mastretta, one of the two brothers behind the Mastretta MXT, believes that the sporty two-seater will be a rival for the Lotus Elise and Exige.
The Mastretta MXT is powered by a Cosworth-built 2-litre turbocharged Duratec engine that outputs 240 bhp and weighs 900 kg. The power power-to-weight ratio of the Mastretta MXT gives it the possibility to get from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
The Mastretta MXT price for the UK market will start at £32,999 and the initial sales will be between 50 and 80 units per year. In year one, only RHD models for the UK will be produced. Lifestyle has the rights for distribution elsewhere in Europe, by which time production will be increased to 200 units a year.
