McLaren P1 GTR Race Car

 »  »  »

McLaren revealed recently their new race car concept, which is based on the P1 hypercar. As you probably know, the McLaren P1 is the successor of the McLaren F1, which was the most extreme vehicle of its time. The McLaren P1 GTR is powered by the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. However, its output has been increased to 1,000PS (986 bhp). Apart from the extra power, McLaren equips the GTR P1 with slick tires, a fixed ride height, enhanced power delivery from the IPAS powertrain and F1-derived DRS and an ERS-style push-to-pass system. The P1 GTR is also equipped with enhanced aerodynamics, an 80mm wider front track, a GT-style front splitter and a massive rear wing. So far, McLaren did not disclose the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of the P1 GTR, nor its top speed.

Here are the full details and specifications of the McLaren P1 GTR. So far, the British supercar manufacturer did not disclose the date on which the GTR concept of the P1 will go into production. Its price is currently a closely guarded secret.
