McLaren revealed today the final specs of the P1, ahead of the hypercar's official premiere, which is going to take place in Geneva next week. As you know from our previous posts, the McLaren P1 is powered by a hybrid system, which includes a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine (737PS / 727 bhp @ 7,500rpm and 720Nm @ 4,000rpm) and an electric motor (179PS / 176 bhp). McLaren's official specifications for the P1 say it has a total power output of 916PS (903 bhp) and 900Nm of torque. The P1's Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) helps it accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3 seconds, to 200 km/h in less than 7 seconds, and to 300 km/h in 17 seconds. The McLaren P1's top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h. The P1 emits less than 200 g/km of CO2.

It comes with Formula 1 inspired DRS and IPAS technology that helps straight-line speed. The McLaren P1 can be driven in electric mode only. On a fully charged battery it has a range of up to 20 km at an average speed of 30 mph.

In terms of exterior design, the production version of the P1 is almost identical to its concept. In Fact, the only difference is the additional LTR ducts in the front which help cooling and increase downforce.

McLaren says that it’s going to fully equip each P1 for both track and the road. The P1 is going to be available in several colors and it will offer visible carbon fiber interior parts as standard. The only optional extras are limited and they are going to be available through McLaren Special Operations.

In their technical specifications, McLaren says the P1 is equipped with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires that have been especially developed for it. Its brakes have been developed by Akebono and offer the same level of performance as the ones used in GT3 racing. The McLaren P1 comes with a new type of carbon ceramic brake discs, which have never been used before on a production car. They are stronger than conventional ceramic discs, lighter, and they can dissipate heat a lot faster.

The McLaren P1's price has been set at £866,000 OTR and the car maker says it's going to build just 375 of them.
