The McLaren P1 was recently spied during a testing session on the race track. Technically, it was not spied, since these images and details were officially released by the carmaker. The world debut of the McLaren P1 took place last year at the Paris auto show. Since then, McLaren has been busy further developing the P1 with the goal of producing the driver's car in the world on road and track. McLaren says they put their 50 years of experience to work when developing the P1. A lot of the technology in the P1 comes directly from Formula 1. For example, they used the same aerodynamic modeling techniques as well as similar dynamics simulation tools. The McLaren P1 is going to be equipped with brakes developed by Akebono, Pirelli tires and Mobil 1 cooling, lubrication and hydraulic fluids.
