MSO (McLaren Special Operations) revealed today a special edition version of the P1, which is called the Satin Volcano Red. We're not really sure what's so special about it, apart the fact that it's a McLaren P1. Its main distinctive feature is its Satin Volcano Red exterior finish. Oh yes. The McLaren P1 Satin Volcano Red by MSO is also equipped with a 24 carat gold-plated exhaust heat shield. This bespoke exhaust is meant as a reminder of the P1's predecessor, the McLaren F1, which had a similar one. At the interior, MSO's P1 Satin Volcano Red is fitted with trim parts that come in the same color. The McLaren P1 is powered by a hybrid powertrain that includes a 727 hp and 720 Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine and an electric motor that puts out an additional 176 bhp.
McLaren is going to build just 375 units of the P1. Some of them are going to be customized by MSO, which is McLaren’s personalization division. The price of the McLaren P1 Satin Volcano Red by MSO has not been disclosed yet.
