The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 has been revealed today, ahead of its debut in the 2012 racing season. The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 will trade paint for the first time in the 2012 Dubai 24 Hours race, which will take place next week. The GT-R Nismo GT3 will compete in the A6 with drivers Michael Krumm (GER), Tom Kimber-Smith (UK), Franck Mailleux (FRA) and Alex Buncombe (UK) at the wheel.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 is powered by the same VR38DETT 3.8-litre V6 twin turbo engine as the road-going vehicle. Its exact output has not been announced, but Nismo says it's more than 500 hp at 6,400 rpm and more than 650 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Nismo equipped the new GT3 GT-R with a Hewland 6-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters and a Sachs 4-plate sintered clutch.

The GT-R GT3 Nismo comes with Brembo brakes, RAYS wheels, an Ohlins TTX suspension with adjustable blade anti-roll bars.

The chassis of the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 weighs just 1300 kg, thanks to various modifications, and it's covered with carbon-composite body panels. In comparison to the street legal GT-R, the Nismo GT3 comes with upgraded aerodynamics, which include a huge front splitter, new bumpers, a flat underbody, and an adjustable rear wing.
