At the beginning of May Nissan announced that the new GT-R established a new Nurburgring Nordschleife lap record of 7:29. A driver-view video of Nissan GT-R's Nurburgring record has surfaced on YouTube thanks to someone filming a TV screen that was showing that hot lap.
The record was set by driver Tochio Suzuki in the middle of April using a standard specification car.
The overall record for a production car around the famous race track belongs to the Pagani Zonda, which was only 2 seconds faster than the GT-R.
