Panoz presented at this year's Dubai Auto Show a road legal version of the Esperante GTR-1. The Esperante GTR-1 was first launched back in 1997. The supercar presented in Dubai is a one-off restored version of one of the original cars. The Panoz Esperante GTR-1 is powered by a 6.0-liter V8 engine developed by Ford that delivers more than 600 hp and around 680 Nm of torque. This is a lot of power if you take into account the fact that the Esperante GTR-1 weighs less than 900 kg. The engine is mated to a 6-speed ZF transaxle transmission and a rear-wheel-drive system. The Panoz Esperante GTR-1 comes equipped with 18-inch OZ Racing center-lock wheels and Brembo brakes with 8-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear.
Unfortunately, this car is not for sale. However, Panoz can build exact replicas upon request, using carbon fiber or other composite materials. The price starts at 890,000 USD.
