The Studiotorino Coupetorino Mercedes SL is a cultural, non-profit project that will be premiered at the Turin World Design Capital 2008. The goal of the Studiotorino Coupetorino Mercedes SL project was to build a coupe while keeping the identity of the SL and add a touch of Italian flair.
The Studiotorino Coupetorino Mercedes SL project includes a 1:4 scale maquette which was modeled by Alfredo Stola. The base 1:4 scale model of the SL that was later re-modeled was supplied by Mercedes. The project was done in collaboration with Istituto di Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD) and was presented at the Mercedes Design Center in Como to Professor Peter Pfeiffer.
The premiere off the Studiotorino Coupetorino Mercedes SL will take place on December 12, 2008 in the "Bespoke Coachwork" exhibit at Turin Gallery.
